Ways to Help
There are many ways to support CASA for the Highland Lakes Area. Whether you are ready to become a volunteer advocate, make a donation, support an event, join Friends of CASA, or simply help share our mission, your involvement makes a difference.
CASA serves children and families across Burnet, Blanco, Llano, Lampasas, and San Saba Counties. Every gift, every volunteer, and every community connection helps strengthen advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
Become a CASA Volunteer
CASA volunteers are trained and supported to advocate for the best interests of children involved in the child welfare system. Volunteers get to know the child, gather information from the important people in the child’s life, and help the court understand the child’s needs related to safety, permanency, and well-being.
You do not need a special background to become a CASA volunteer. CASA provides the training, tools, and ongoing support you need.
Make a Donation
Your financial support helps CASA recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates. Donations help ensure children in our community have someone standing beside them during some of the most difficult and important moments of their lives.
Join Friends of CASA
Not everyone is called to serve as a court-appointed advocate, but everyone can play a part.
Friends of CASA support our mission through outreach, fundraising, office support, events, special projects, and community connection. This is a meaningful way to get involved if you want to support CASA but may not be ready or able to serve as an advocate.
Support Events and Fundraising
CASA events help raise critical funds and awareness for our mission. You can help by attending events, sponsoring, donating auction items, inviting guests, or helping spread the word.
Share the Mission
One of the simplest ways to help is by telling others about CASA. Share our posts, invite someone to learn more, connect us with a local business or civic group, or encourage someone you know to consider becoming a CASA volunteer.
Your voice can help more people understand the need for child advocacy in our community.
Report Child Abuse or Neglect
We all have a responsibility to help protect children from harm.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or local law enforcement.
To report suspected abuse or neglect in Texas, call the Texas Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400 or report online at the Texas Abuse Hotline website.
Reports should be made as soon as possible. You do not have to prove abuse or neglect has occurred. If you have reason to suspect abuse or neglect, make the report so the appropriate professionals can respond.
Your Legal Protection
Reports of child abuse or neglect are confidential. A person who makes a report in good faith is protected from civil or criminal liability.
Making a report can feel difficult, but it may be the step that helps protect a child and connect a family with needed intervention and support.
