Advocate Training Dates

Our current CASA advocate training class is already in session, but we are now preparing for our next class, which is expected to begin in mid-June.

CASA advocate training is a 6-week commitment that includes a combination of in-person classes and online training completed between class sessions. In-person classes are typically held on Mondays or Wednesdays.

New advocate training classes typically begin every other month, so if the June class does not work with your schedule, we would still love to connect with you about a future training opportunity.

What to Expect

During training, volunteers learn about the role of a CASA advocate, the child welfare system, court procedures, trauma-informed advocacy, cultural awareness, child development, family dynamics, and how to make meaningful recommendations in the best interest of a child.

After successfully completing training and required background checks, new volunteers are sworn in and assigned to a case with ongoing support from CASA staff.

Interested in the Next Class?

If you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, now is a great time to apply. Once we receive your application, a CASA staff member will contact you with next steps and details about upcoming training dates.
